{Summer Staples}

         Summer essentials

Hello All!
Today I am sharing some of my summer staples that I can be spotted wearing daily during the hot summer months! Nothing shown above is really a "new" item but more of just some classics that I have accumulated over the years! For me, a preppy wardrobe is not about having the newest clothes but buying classics that can be worn for summers to come. Also, most of these items come in multiple color options which allow you to buy a classic color like navy or tan while incoporating in some fun pops of color too!

1. Chinos: J.Crew in my opinion has the best with multiple options varying in fit, length, and color! Whether you get them from J.Crew or J.Crew factory both are guaranteed to be a classic go to for your summer wardrobe. The difference? J.Crew uses a more expensive material and in my opinion is a little better quality than J.Crew factory. I love both do not get me wrong. However, if you want them to last forever get the ones from J.Crew. If you wait for them to go on sale you can get them for an equally great price like what J.Crew factory offers!

2. Linen Skirts: Again, J.Crew offers some very light weight and comfortable linen skirts (lined with cotton) from both J.Crew and J.Crew factory! I have a red one and green one. The green one I found at a consignment shop for $12! They are great to wear for a more dressier look in the summer time! I personally love pairing them with my jacks and an oxford.

3. Pull on shorts: I was hesitant to buy these at first because they looked a little casual. However, they are great to literally "pull" on. They look and fit like chinos except for the waist which is gathered/elastic. I have a pair in black and have been watching for other colors to go on sale so I can order some more!

4. A striped dress: The one pictured above was from J.Crew last year. However, I have others that I have gotten from Old Navy and H&M! I love simple dresses like this because they are so easy to just throw on. They make it look like you put in more effort than you actually did! Also they are super comfy and great to dress up or down!

5. Oxfords: A classic oxford like the one pictured above is a great investment in my opinion. They are great to layer or just wear which makes them perfect for year round! Also, they last forever. My mom has ones from Ralph Lauren that she has had for over 15 years! They are classics that will never cease to go out of style.

6. Chambray Shirt: Another classic, the chambray shirt can be worn with literally anything! Wear it under a sweater or dress. Throw it on over a t-shirt. Tuck it into a skirt or some chinos. It is a very versatile piece that is able to go with any outfit or color! It's a definite must for one's wardrobe!

7. Gingham: One could not truly emulate a preppy summer look without owning some gingham! Fortunetly, it has seemed to have made a comeback. Especially this year as seen in numerous lines dresses, tops, and skirts! Just looking at gingham prints reminds me of the warmer months!

8. T-shirts: Comfy tees are a must for any summer wardrobe. The only thing better than a comfy tee is a preppy comfy tee! They are great for a more casual look and also nice to wear to the beach or pool!  Most of my tees are from Vineyard Vines. However, I get them from the men's section because they use a thicker fabric which holds up better.

9. Striped Shirts: A must for any season really. I find these shirts to be classics that can be paired easily with anything! Considering that I have around 20+ (Way too much right?!) I would say that they are the back bone of my warbrode. I am drawn to anything with stripes really. Also, I have gotten mine from a variety of places including Gap, Lands End, Target, J.Crew, and Ralph Lauren. I am a sucker for a good striped shirt.

10. Sandals: Every summer I get giddy when I can wear my sandals again! I love breaking out the Jacks and the Tory Burch Miller sandals. I have a pair of Jacks in silver and I am ordering a navy pair for the upcoming summer. I wear my Jacks with anything from shorts to dresses. In my opinion they are totally worth the investment! I also love my Tory Burch Miller sandals. I ordered a pair in navy on sale last year. I have worn them equally as much as I do my Jacks! They were easier to break into than the Jacks were which was an added bonus as well!

11. Scalloped Dress: My J.Crew scalloped dress has been and will always be my go to dress. I have the one in navy which has been a part of my wardrobe for several years now! I wear it to mass as much as I can. I love pairing it with my Jacks and some pearls!

12. Sperrys: Okay, considering that I have several pairs of Sperrrys I felt obligated to put them on the list. I wear these basically when ever I can. The pair pictured above are probably my favorite out of the several I have because they go with anything. I literally have to force myself to pick out different shoes to wear or else I would wear these everyday! They are so comfy and durable. Also the leather ages so well!

13. Sunglasses: I love a good pair of sunglasses! Especially if they are tortoise shell. I love a nice pair of Jackie O style shades too. However, my go to sunglasses are my polarized Ray-Ban New Wayfarer Classics. I got them for Christmas and wear them every chance I can!

14. Headbands: Headbands are a wardrobe staple for me. Ever since I saw Blair Waldorf pull off the headband look I was convinced headbands were a must! Considering I have several headbands that are all tortoise shell, I would say I have a slight addiction. I also love J.Crew's skinny metallic headband. As I am sitting here typing this, I am realizing that most of my headbands are from J.Crew,
shocking I know :)

15. Monogram Necklace: I wear this everday with anything and everything. I got mine from Nordstrom's as a brithday gift and I looove it. It also keeps its shine pretty well and I have not had to polish it yet!

16. Longchamp: This is one of my favorite brands for purchasing purses from! Their bags hold so much and are also nice and compactible! I have a small one in pink, a large one in navy, and I just ordered a navy backpack for my upcoming trip to Scotland! My mom and I share them which I why I have several. In my eyes they are a classic that I will be able to use for years to come!

Comment and share some of your summer staples. I would love to know what they are!
Thank you all for reading this semi lengthy post!

Jack Wills Pop Up at Stotesbury!

Hello All!
I was at the Stotesbury Regatta two weeks ago in Philidelphia and they had some of the cutest vendors! My favorite was their Jack Wills pop up tent! They had a lovely display of their summer line. The whole tent was my aestetic and I could not resist snapping some pictures! Sadly, I did not make any purchases cause it was all a little pricey but I had fun just taking it all in!
